About

Emily Pronin is Associate Professor of Psychology and Public Affairs at Princeton University. Her research concerns natural asymmetries in the way we perceive ourselves versus the way we perceive others. It further concerns how the processes involved in self and social perception can lead us to misperceive and misunderstand ourselves, and others. Research focuses on bias perceptions and implications for conflict. Pronin received her BA in Psychology from Yale, and her PhD in Psychology from Stanford, and was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard, before coming to Princeton in 2003.
